Welcome to Good Computer

“Artificial Intelligence” means everything these days, from chatbots to deepfakes to humanity-ending superintelligence to savior machines that solve climate change. As an educator and researcher in AI, I’ve been helping break down the waves tsunamis of information about AI for years. Good Computer is my way of doing so online, one topic at a time. I explore the good and the bad sides of AI, covering scientific applications of AI, stupid applications of AI, new AI developments, AI policy and ethics, and public perception of AI. I believe that computers can be good and beneficial tools if we can just figure out how to properly use them.
